Wetland Recovery

Jun 22, 2021 | News

Constructed wetlands for the purpose of flood mitigation are ever evolving environments. Management of this site has been largely focused upon protection of retained vegetation, management, and rehabilitation of weed infested areas, planting of wetland species to assist natural regeneration, monitoring of natural regeneration within regrowth bushland patches, aquatic weed management and restoration of adjacent fringes and fragmented canopy.

Currently CGL is working closely with the landholder to increase habitat for avian species, increase the extent of native vegetation creating stepping stones to nearby nature reserves, and create a koala fodder corridor.
